HANDICAPS
Can
members please ensure that score cards are dated and fill name
and membership number is included. Members are reminded that those
members that have Handicaps at other clubs must notify us of their
handicap & keep us updated about any change. Thanks.
THE
'HOME' CLUB RULE
Members need to be aware that CONGU Rules (Council
of National Golf Unions) require that their home club must be
one that is affiliated - in our case The English Golf Union. At
Longhirst we have many members who are also members of other affiliated
clubs. The Rules require that those golfers who are members of
more than one club shall nominate one as his home club.
When
members take part in competitions at Longhirst or at any other
courses, whether Longhirst is their home course or not, they are
required to notify their home course and their other course(s)
about their scores.
It
would be particularly helpful if those members of Longhirst who
are members at other courses could notify Ian Brodie on 01670
791562.
QUALIFYING
COMPETITIONS
With such a large and diverse membership, Longhirst Hall Golf
Course are happy to permit sections within the club to register
their own competitions.
The
Club Committee are in the process of publishing our own competition
fixture program which will include those of 2 of the larger societies
within the club. To do this they and any other section must apply
to the club committee for qualifying competition status. They
also must be aware that the owners will not block tee bookings
for these events, but will be happy for members to book their
tee times in the usual fashion. All competitions must be played
in four balls.
To
register for a qualifying competition, groups, societies or companies
must do so via one contact/organiser who shall be responsible
for making sure that the competition is carried out in accordance
with The Rules of Golf. The Competition Secretary will require
a competition date, time, a format, i.e., 3 Horse Shoe May Medal
and a maximum entry number plus whether the competition will be
played off White or Yellow tees. All scores must be recorded and
submitted to The Club Handicap Secretary.
